MUACC 2009
December 3rd-5th, 2009

The first Midwestern Universities Analytical Chemistry Conference was held in 1946 with the goal of strengthening the common threads that bind and define analytical chemistry. In 2009, the faculty of the Department of Chemistry at Michigan State University invite you to East Lansing to reconnect with friends and colleagues and meet some of the new people who are helping shape the dynamic landscape of measurement science. MUACC is a chance for those interested in research, teaching, and service in the broad context of analytical chemistry to gather to exchange ideas and report on cutting-edge work in progress. The meeting will be held December 3rd – 5th, 2009.
Attendees are invited to give oral presentations of varying levels of formality—from chalk talks to PowerPoint. Contributors are especially encouraged to present their most recent results rather than recount literature publications. The length of talks will be determined closer to the conference date to reflect the number of submitted titles.
A poster session will be held on the Friday evening to highlight the work of graduate students and post doc's. New to this years event, graduate students and post doc’s from other universities are encouraged to attend the conference and to present their research in the poster session. A special reduced rate of $50.00 will be offered for early graduate student registrations.
Deadlines:
- Talks/poster titles: October 16th, 2009
- Early Registration: October 30th, 2009
- Hotel Accomodations: November 3rd, 2009
- Registration: November 20th, 2009
Funds will be available to support a limited number of Assistant Professors, faculty from Undergraduate Institutions, as well as graduate students and post doc’s, to attend MUACC. For more information, please see the Travel Awards page.
We look forward to welcoming you all to East Lansing on the 3rd. As always, if you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact the co-chairs of this years meeting, Professor Dana Spence and Professor Gavin Reid.
